Here lies a righteous and merciful man, gave from his bread to the hungry
and took pity on the needy, gave them shelter at the time of danger,
spent a lot of money with great courage to rescue them from ?, gave them
food and drink with kindness, surely he is the generous kindhearted scholar who
was honest with God and with people ? ? from his heart,
Eliyaho son of Reb Moshe [Moses] of blessed memory died with
a good name 15 Adar 5614 [15 March 1854]
May his soul be bound in the bond of everlasting life
