An acrostic poem spelling the name of the deceased Yosef [Joseph] ...here on earth with…..surely he is a man with a beloved soul who sought righteousness and benevolence, was plucked at the prime of his life, the honorable Yosef son of HaRav Haim [Chaim] Hersch of blessed memory died 18 Elul 5595 [12 September 1835] by the abbreviated era May his soul be bound in the bond of everlasting life.
